The ProGroup Solution
The exterior needed more than just a fresh coat of paint. Proper preparation and the right products would ensure the new paint would stick and last for years. Here’s how we did it:
Cleaning and Surface Preparation:
We started by giving the stucco a high-pressure wash using eco-friendly cleaning solutions to remove dirt, mould, and flaky paint. Stucco’s textured finish traps dirt, so a deep clean was crucial for a long-lasting paint job.
Once the stucco was clean and dry, we inspected the surface for cracks and chips. We filled any small cracks with flexible exterior filler to create a smooth, even finish. Since stucco doesn’t need sanding, we simply spot-primed the patched areas to ensure consistent colour and adhesion.
Professional Painting:
We used Dulux professional-grade exterior paint formulated specifically for textured surfaces. To maintain the character of the stucco, we applied the paint using a spray technique, which evenly coated the textured surface without clogging the grooves.
We applied two top coats for maximum durability and colour vibrancy, protecting the exterior from UV rays, rain, and humidity. This high-quality paint is designed to resist cracking, peeling, and fading, keeping the house looking fresh for years.
