Anna and Rodney needed a comfortable outdoor living and entertaining space for their relaxed semi-rural home in Riverhead. Together we were able to develop a vision of how to transform their existing self-contained unit and gungy old concrete pad into a gorgeous space to relax through all seasons.
We knew this was a perfect spot for our Hauraki louvre roof but to make the most of the space it really needed just a bit more. To create a more comfortable space, we needed to extend the area, digging back and retaining a small area. We then needed to find an integrated way to hide the old water tanks and power board. By overlaying kwila decking over the concrete pad we were able to create a soft-under-foot, level entry from the existing unit and wow what a difference.
Anna and Rodney are loving this versatile outdoor space for family and friends. When it’s hot out, their Hauraki Louvre is open to the sky, offering the perfect amount of shade. The automated blinds give them all the options whether to keep out a little too much sun, an unwanted breeze or the rain. And if it’s really cold let’s crank up the outdoor fire in winter. A perfect indoor / outdoor space all year round.
